Ingenuus Joins National Electronics Manufacturing Initiative (NEMI)

Participation in NEMI will contribute to industry interoperability

SUNNYVALE, CA—October 5, 2000—Ingenuus Corporation (NASDAQ: INGE) a provider of business-to-business collaboration applications today announced that it has joined the National Electronics Manufacturing Initiative, Inc.

"NEMI is a solid leader in the activities surrounding standards among manufacturers," said Mike Carroll, CEO and President of Ingenuus. "Being a part of NEMI allows us to participate in the formation and rollout of those standards ensuring that our customers have products that are part of a greater technology infrastructure."

NEMI is a partnership of the North American electronics manufacturing industry, including commercial and consumer electronics manufacturers, semiconductor manufacturers, substrate suppliers, materials suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and electronics service providers. Other NEMI affiliates include electronics industry associations, government agencies, and research universities.

"NEMI is always looking for leading edge technology that is needed by today’s global manufacturer," said Jim McElroy, executive director and CEO of NEMI. "The Ingenuus Collaborative Change Control Management™ technology is a good example of the kind of leading edge technology we are interested in."

NEMI membership includes representatives from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), suppliers, and affiliated organizations. More than 10 NEMI projects are currently being formed to foster the adoption of new technology deployment. By establishing implementation projects between users and suppliers NEMI helps to facilitate the adoption of manufacturing technology from development into factory accelerating development of the North American-based manufacturing infrastructure.
