iNEMI Liquid Cooling Symposium Will Discuss Successful
Applications of Liquid Cooling

This meeting, held concurrently with ITherm and ECTC, will provide
input for an industry best practices document

HERNDON, Va. (May 16, 2006) — The International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative (iNEMI), an industry-led consortium, is sponsoring a symposium to discuss successful applications of liquid cooling in the electronics industry.  The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Executive Center 3 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.

iNEMI’s recently formed Heat Transfer Technology Integration Group (TIG) is organizing this important meeting to gather information for a best practices document to be published by the TIG’s Liquid Cooling Project team.  The project proposes to develop best practices for the overall system, including the hot side heat exchanger (with the pump or fluid driving device) and the tubing or fluid path.  These components represent the greatest challenge to commercialization of liquid cooling.

Following the Wednesday night symposium, the iNEMI Liquid Cooling Project will hold an open meeting on Friday, June 2, 8:00 to 9:00 a.m., to discuss and distill symposium presentations into key points for the best practices document.  This meeting will also be held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina (Marina 5 Room).

About iNEMI
The International Electronics Manufacturing Initiative’s mission is to assure leadership of the global electronics manufacturing supply chain.  Based in Herndon, Va., the industry-led consortium is made up of approximately 70 manufacturers, suppliers, industry associations and consortia, government agencies and universities.  iNEMI roadmaps the needs of the electronics industry, identifies gaps in the technology infrastructure, establishes implementation projects to eliminate these gaps (both business and technical), and stimulates standards activities to speed the introduction of new technologies.  The consortium also works with government, universities and other funding agencies to set priorities for future industry needs and R&D initiatives.  For additional information about iNEMI, visit www.inemi.org.
